Miss Vietnam Tourism Global 2021 restarts after COVID-19 delay
VOV.VN - The Miss Vietnam Tourism Global 2021 beauty pageant is set to begin in Ho Chi Minh City on April 24 after the event was temporarily postponed due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The contest was originally scheduled to take place in Binh Thuan province last August before it was delayed amidst COVID-19 fears.
Organisers recently announced plans to kick-start the semi-finals in Ho Chi Minh City on April 24 and the grand final in Phan Thiet city of Binh Thuan province on May 21. The finale will be live broadcast on Vietnam Television (VTV) channel.
Women aged 18 to 27 who are at least 1.60 metres tall are encouraged to take part in the contest. Notably, transgender people are also eligible for competitions.
The ultimate winner of the contest will receive a crown worth VND3 billion and a set of jewelry costing VND300 million. First and second runners-up will be awarded crowns valued at VND500 million each and sets of jewelry valued at VND150 million and VND100 million, respectively.
The top three winners will move on to represent Vietnam at global beauty competitions such as Miss Supranational and Miss World.
The judges will also be giving awards to sub-contest winners, including Miss Ao Dai, Miss Sea, Miss Fashion, and Miss Sports.
Lai Huong Thao who represented Vietnam at Miss Supranational 2012 and Miss World 2013 pageants will serve as one of judges for the competition.
