The organizers say the pageant celebrates the beauty, intellect, talent and character of modern Vietnamese women while promoting the country’s cultural heritage and landscapes to the world. Contestants are not just vying for the crown, but are expected to embody the role of “Tourism Ambassadors” who inspire global audiences.

Under the theme Radiant Vietnam, the upcoming season aims to build on the success of previous editions, particularly in 2022 and 2024, which included tours through major destinations such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Phu Quoc, Bac Ninh, Ha Nam, Ninh Binh, Sa Pa and Cam Pha.

Speaking at the event, People’s Artist Quang Vinh, former Director of the Performing Arts Department and Chair of the judging panel, said the competition does not seek artificial beauty. Natural features are part of the core criteria, he stressed, as they express authenticity and self-respect. Unlike typical beauty contests, Miss Tourism Vietnam looks for candidates with the potential to represent the tourism industry, one of Vietnam’s key economic pillars.

The southern preliminary round is scheduled for November 2025, followed by the northern round in December. The national semi-final will be held on December 27, and the final night is set for January 10, 2026 in northern Quang Ninh province. Main competition segments include the Ao dai (national long dress) and Q&A rounds.

Winners will be selected for the top three titles, Miss Tourism and two runners-up, along with awards such as Miss Ao dai, Miss Body, Miss Humanity, Miss Talent, and Miss Photogenic.

First launched in 2008 with Phan Thi Ngoc Diem crowned as the inaugural winner, the pageant resumed in 2022 after a hiatus and is now held every two years. In 2024, Pham Thi Ngoc Quynh of Hai Duong won the crown, with Huynh Kim Anh and Le Thi Anh Tuyet as first and second runners-up.
