Miss Cosmo Vietnam to pause in 2026, return in early 2027
VOV.VN - Miss Cosmo Vietnam will not be held in 2026 as organisers carry out system restructuring, with the contest set to return in early 2027.
Nguyen Thi Ngoc Chau, National Director of Miss Cosmo Vietnam, said 2026 will be a key year for restructuring its organisation, standardising the national licensing system, and building a more professional, province-based candidate selection process while ensuring strict quality control.
The organisers aim to relaunch the contest with a more professional and sustainable format aligned with international standards.
In the absence of the 2026 edition, Unicorp will send a Vietnamese representative to Miss Cosmo 2026, although the candidate has yet to be announced.
Online discussions have suggested several potential contenders, including runners-up Thao Nhi Le, Thuy Tien, Hoang Nhung and Cam Ly, with Thao Nhi Le and Cam Ly seen as strong candidates.
Vietnam’s recent performances at Miss Cosmo include Bui Xuan Hanh finishing in the top five in 2024 and Nguyen Hoang Phuong Linh placing in the top 10 in 2025.
First held in 2008, Miss Cosmo Vietnam has developed over 18 years and produced notable titleholders such as Nguyen Thuy Lam (2008), Pham Huong (2015), H’Hen Nie (2017), Nguyen Tran Khanh Van (2019), Nguyen Thi Ngoc Chau (2022), Bui Xuan Hanh (2023) and Nguyen Hoang Phuong Linh (2025).
The organisers said the contest will continue to follow a biennial schedule to ensure quality and allow the titleholder sufficient time to fulfil their roles and contribute to community-based activities
