Minh Hanh wins Knight of the Order of the Star of Italy
Vietnamese fashion designer Minh Hanh has recently got a medal of Knight of the Order of the Star of Italy from the Italian government for her contributions to deepening ties between Vietnam and Italy and promoting Italian fashion and culture in Vietnam, according to the Italian Embassy in Vietnam.

Hanh received the title at the Italian-Vietnamese fashion week in Hanoi late last week, which aims to commemorate 45 years of diplomatic relations between Italy and Vietnam.
Italian Ambassador to Vietnam Cecilia Piccioni said in a statement that Hanh served as the president of Italian-Vietnamese fashion association in 2015 and her contribution to the development of Italian fashion culture to Vietnam makes her worthy of the recognition.
This is not the first time that the Vietnamese designer has received recognition from the international community when she netted the Arts and Culture Prize within Japan’s Fukuoka Prize 2015 for her devotions to preserving Japanese cultural identity.
Earlier, Hanh bagged the “Knight of Art & Literature” title from the French government in 2006 thanks to her achievements in strengthening French-Vietnamese cultural cooperation.
Hanh, 57, was born into a family of Hue origin in the Central Highlands city of Pleiku and found her passion for fashion at a young age. With a stack of accomplishments under her belt, she quickly made the list of the 20 most influential women in Vietnam in 2016 by Forbes Vietnam, a monthly magazine published in Vietnamese.
