Minh advances to BWF World Champs third round

(VOV) - Top Vietnamese badminton player Nguyen Tien Minh has cruised to the third round of the BWF World Championships 2013 in China after defeating Germany’s Dieter Domke 24-22 and 21-17 on August 7. 

It was a big challenge for Minh as the 2-m tall German player has a high level of strength and durability.

The first game saw the two players perform tit for tat, and it was the Vietnamese hopeful who delivered a decisive attack in the last minutes to seal the victory.

The German player tried to equalize the scoring in the second game, but failed. He Vietnamese opponent maintained his dominance to end the game 21-17.

Minh’s next opponent in the third round will be the winner of match between Ajay Jayaram (India) and Pablo Abian (Spain).

Minh outplayed New Zealand’s Joe Wu in the first round on August 4.
