Mì Quảng takes the lead among Top 100 Vietnamese food

VOV.VN - Mì Quảng (Quang-style noodles) has been placed in the top position on the list of the Top 100 Vietnamese food, as compiled by TasteAtlas, a reputable culinary website that specialises in food from around the world.

The Vietnamese classic consists of a combination of flat rice noodles and yellow egg noodles which are served with a small amount of flavourful meat broth and crispy fresh vegetables and herbs such as banana blossoms, lettuce, cilantro, scallions, and Vietnamese coriander, the website wrote.

TasteAtlas also noted that the dish is incredibly versatile and usually comes topped with pork belly, chicken, shrimps, fish, boiled eggs, roasted peanuts, and fish crackers.

Though it first originated in central Vietnam, specifically in Quang Nam province, nowadays Mì Quảng is enjoyed throughout the country, it added.

Bánh Mì Thịt (Meat and cold cuts sandwich), which is usually enjoyed for breakfast and lunch, came second on the list, while third position went to Bún Bò Nam Bộ (Southern Vietnamese beef noodle with salad), which comprises beef, rice vermicelli noodles, garlic, fresh herbs (cilantro, mint), and vegetables.

Bò Lúc Lắc (Vietnamese shaking beef) claimed fourth position, while Chạo Tôm (sugar crane shrimp) was in fifth spot.

Other delicacies to make the Top 10 consist of Phở Bò (Beef Pho), Bò Kho (Beef stew), Nước Chấm (Fish sauce), Chả Giò (fried spring rolls), and Bún Bò Huế (Hue breakfast noodle soup).
