London hosts Vietnam Open Festival
(VOV) -The Vietnam Open Festival (VOF) featuring 40 stands to introduce visitors about Vietnam’s unique culture, arts, costumes and music is being held in London on June 23-24.
The event marks 40 years of diplomatic ties between Vietnam and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
Lord Charles David Powell said the VOF along the Thames River is an excellent idea to help UK people understand more about Vietnamese culture.
The event started with Vietnamese girls wearing ao dais (traditional long dresses) in a conical hat dance followed by unicorn and flag dances.
Another highlight was an ao dai fashion show performed by UK and EU models.
Participants were introduced to Vietnam’s famous pottery and silk trademarks and had a chance to taste delicious Vietnamese food.
They also visited the Friends of Vietnam Network (FVN) stand to voice supports for Agent Orange/dioxin victims in Vietnam.
