LienVietPostBank wins int’l volleyball tourney
(VOV) - LienVietPostBank has won the championship title of an international volleyball tournament in Bac Ninh after a tit-for-tat match against Sichuan of China on May 26.
The 2013 LienVietPostBank Cup saw the participation of more than 100 players from LienVietPostBank, VTV Binh Dien-Long An, VietinBank and Vietsovpetro representing Vietnam, as well as foreign teams from Sri Lanka, Thailand, Shandong and Sichuan of China.
Twenty exciting matches were held during the 8-day competition, receiving strong support from local spectators.
LienVietPostBank took the trophy, receiving a US$15,000 prize.
Second prize of US$10,000 went to Sichuan, while VTV Binh Dien-Long An and VietinBank came in third and fourth, respectively.
A consolation prize was given to Sri Lanka, and Thailand won a prize for style.
Individual awards were also presented to Nguyen Thi Xuan (VietinBank) for the best hitter; Pham Thi Yen (LienVietPostBank) as the best all-rounder; and Ta Thi Dieu Linh (LienVietPostBank) for the best libero, while Wang Chen (Sichuan) was named the best setter, and Ye Chi (Sichuan) was the best blocker.
