Laguna race attracts foreigners
Over 200 athletes from the US, France, England, Sweden, the Czech Republic, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore and Japan are scheduled to race in the Laguna Lang Co Triathlon on April 14, the organizing committee has said.
Triathletes will cover a 1.8km swim, a 62km bike ride and a 12km run. There will also be a duathlon consisting of a 6km run, a 62km bike ride and a 12km run.
The race will wind through An Lap Lagoon and the Hai Van Tunnel.
Roman Floesser, race director of the Laguna Phuket Triathlon, and his experienced management team have been appointed to organise the event.
The race will be open to amateurs, but will also feature a group of professional athletes whose names will be announced shortly.
Participants of the Laguna Lang Co Triathlon will recognize some familiar features that have given the Laguna Phuket Triathlon its legendary reputation.
The Laguna Lang Co Triathlon is expected to attract tourists to the new holiday destination and to enhance tourism and economic development in Chan May-Lang Co and Thua Thien-Hue province.
Registration for the Laguna Lang Co Triathlon is now open. Participants are entitled to special rates starting from US$160 per night for accommodation bookings at Banyan Tree Lang Co and Angsana Lang Co during their stay for the event.
Entry fees will start at US$150 and the price includes the Pasta Party.
The event, which will be held the first time at Laguna Lang Co, Vietnam’s first and largest world-class integrated resort development, aims to build on the success of its sister event, the legendary Laguna Phuket Triathlon.
