Jazz concert marks Vietnam-Canada diplomatic ties
VOV.VN - B’s Bees, a Canadian jazz band from Montréal, Canada, brought their talent to the stage of the Hanoi Opera House on October 15 to celebrate 45 years of bilateral relations between Canada and Vietnam.
Over the past year, both Canada and Vietnam have recognized this important milestone and participated in cultural exchanges. In September of this year, the Vietnamese Government organised a very popular cultural week in Canada, featuring a film festival and a musical performance. Tonight’s performance continues with this cultural exchange between the two countries.
Speaking about the concert, the B’s Bees’ band leader Brandon Goodwin shared, “We are excited to be part of this memorable event and we are proud to be from a country that works so hard to maintain a strong relationship with Vietnam.”
Montréal group B's Bees is a hard swinging jazz outfit known for their compelling original music and high energy interpretations of the music of past masters, such as The Jazz Messengers, Thelonious Monk and Charlie Haden. Comprised of 4 core members and several charter members, B’s Bees wowed the audience at their debut concert at the Montréal International Jazz Festival in 2012.
