Japanese Oshogatsu Festival in Hanoi

(VOV) - A cultural festival allowing visitors to experience a traditional Japanese New Year (Oshogatsu) was held January 16 at the Hanoi University of Science and Technology.

The event provided festivalgoers the chance to take part in a wide range of activities including a photo exhibition,

Yosakoi dances,

and Yukata-wearing (an informal, unlined kimono made of cotton).

An installation of 800 paper cranes helped visitors express their dreams and prayers for the New Year.

Participants also had a chance to play traditional games,

enjoy Japanese food,

and make teru teru dolls.

Oshogatsu is one of the most important Japanese celebrations
