Japanese film festival to premier in big cities

A Japanese film festival will take place in Hanoi, Danang and Vung Tau from November 11 to December 15, as part of activities to celebrate the Vietnam-Japan Friendship Year 2013.

According to organisers, eight Japanese popular contemporary movies will be screened at the “Kizuna” (Bond) film festival. 

The eight renowned cinematic works, which won numerous international prizes, include “Tokyo Family” directed by Yoji Yamada in 2013, “Grave of the Fireflies” by Isao Takahata in 1988, “Someday” by Junji Sakamoto and “Rebirth” by Izuri Narushima in 2011.
