Japanese designer to attend Vietnam Int’l Fashion Week
(VOV) - Renowned Japanese wedding dress designer, Yumi Katsura, will introduce her latest collection at Vietnam International Fashion Week in Gem Centre, Ho Chi Minh City on October 14-18.
Her collection is one of 20 of the most anticipated shows. Her luxurious and sophisticated designs are expected to enthrall Vietnamese fashion lovers.
Born in Tokyo, Yumi Katsura graduated from Kyoritsu Women's University with a degree from the Department of Apparel Science Studies.
In 1964, Katsura opened her first bridal salon, as well as presented the first bridal show ever held in Japan. In 1988, the Yumi Katsura Bridal Museum was established in Kobe. The museum exhibits authentic traditional bridal gowns from all over the world.
Yumi Katsura is also currently the head of several organizations such as the Federation of Asia & Pacific Bridal Associations, the Japan Bridal Association, Yumi Katsura International, Co. Ltd., and Katsura Yumi Wedding System, Co. Ltd.
She is one of Japan's and the world's most prolific designers, whose wedding dresses are considered modern fashion masterpieces.
