Italian Design Day 2021 launched in Vietnam

VOV.VN - The fifth version of the Italian Design Day was held virtually on July 8 in Milan, Italy, along with Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, to give participants the chance to explore the idea of urban regeneration in different countries with designers, architects, and landscape planners.

During the two-day event, two seminars with the theme of “Urban Regeneration” and “Technology applied to the preservation of Cultural heritage” help to connect various professionals, academics, and students in different Vietnamese and Italian cities.

Architect Massimo Roj, who is currently serving as this year’s Italian Design Ambassador in Vietnam, delivered an online presentation detailing architecture and sustainability in urban regeneration, two concepts that he has actively championed for over three decades.

As an ambassador of sustainable design, Roj strives to integrate sustainable strategies with the objective of creating flexible and efficient architecture.

Initially launched in 2017 by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Fondazione Compasso d’Oro and the Triennale di Milano, the annual Italian Design Day has been warmly welcomed in many countries globally, including Vietnam.

Hosted by 100 Italian ambassadors in 100 cities worldwide, the scheme involves exhibitions, talks, and other events which create a platform for art lover, designers, architects, in addition to landscape and urban developers to explore the idea of sustainable development and preservation of beauty on a global scale.
