Int’l Open Kylin-Lion-Dragon Championship attracts spectators
VOV.VN - The International District 5 Open Kylin-Lion-Dragon Championship concluded in Ho Chi Minh City on January 12, attracting a huge number of spectators keen to watch impressive performances.
Accordingly, the Mieu Bay Ba troupe hailing from the southern province of An Giang successfully surpassed strong domestic and foreign opponents to ultimately become the winner of the competition.
Second place went to Chung Huy Duong troupe from Tan Binh district of Ho Chi Minh City.
Meanwhile, Xuan Long Dragon and Lion Dance Rawang Selangor from Malaysia and Tai Anh Duong from the southern province An Giang shared third positions.
Nguyen Ngoc Tu, deputy president of the HCM City Kylin-Lion-Dragon Dance Federation, shared that the number of troupes participating in the competition has increased compared to previous seasons.
He added that this year’s performances by the troupes conveyed messages of patriotism, the spirit of national solidarity, and national pride.
This year saw the competition, which ran with the theme of “Nation Full of Joy”, organised by the Ho Chi Minh City Television, the administration in District 5, and the Ho Chi Minh City Kylin-Lion-Dragon Dance Federation.
The event attracted the participation of a total of 45 lion dance troupes from across Vietnam and three international teams from Thailand, Malaysia, and Singapore.
