International women’s volleyball tourney to open in Bac Ninh
The international women’s volleyball tournament (2012 LienVietPost Bank) will kick off in the northern province of Bac Ninh from May 26 to June 3.
According to a press briefing in Hanoi on May 15, eight teams will be participating in the tournament including three foreign teams coming from Australia, New Zealand and China.
Five Vietnamese teams including VTV Binh Dien Long An, Vietinbank, PVD Thai Binh, PetroVietnam and LienVietPost Bank.
Winners will be awarded a total cash prize worth US$40,000, and the champion will receive US$15,000. In addition, the tournament’s organizing board will present US$3,000 to the eight best players.
The event aims to help local athletes sharpen their professional skills and gain more experience.
The opening match on May 26 will see competition between two guest teams from Australia and New Zealand. Later the same day, LienVietPost Bank will play against PVD Thai Binh.
