VOV.VN - Picturesque scenes of Vietnam in the recent film “A Tourist’s Guide to Love” by Rachael Leigh Cook are being featured on a billboard in Times Square in New York in the United States as part of a promotion campaign taking place around the world.

Screening of the movie will take place up to April 28.

The romance movie boasts high positions in many Southeast Asian film charts including making the Top 3 in the Philippines, the Top 4 in Singapore, the Top 5 in Indonesia, the Top 6 in Malaysia, and the Top 8 in Thailand.

“A Tourist’s Guide to Love” represents the first international production to film in the nation since the start of the global COVID-19 pandemic and involves over 200 local crew members and vendors.

It tells the story of a travel executive who experiences an unexpected break-up and decides to accept an assignment to go undercover to learn about the tourist industry in Vietnam.

Along the way, she finds both adventure and romance with her Vietnamese expat tour guide when they decide to hijack the tour bus to explore life and love off the beaten path.

The movie was shot across five iconic destinations in the nation and showcases the country’s beautiful locations to global audiences who are treated to the charming spectacles of vibrant life in Ho Chi Minh City, the natural scenery of Da Nang, the laid-back ancient ambiance of Hoi An, the majestic landscapes of Ha Giang, and the unique beauty of Hanoi, where past meets present.

The film is a melting pot featuring both an international and local cast, including US actress Rachael Leigh Cook, Vietnamese-American actor Scott Ly, and local stars Truc Tran and Le Thien.

“A Tourist’s Guide to Love” was released on April 21 globally and exclusively on Netflix, a worldwide streamer of movies and TV shows.
