VOV.VN - Hundreds of circus performers from nine countries put their talents on display at the International Circus Festival 2019 which opened in Hanoi on October 15.
The festival has been jointly organised by the Performing Arts Department of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Hanoi’s Department of Culture and Sports, the Vietnam Stage Artists’ Association, the Vietnam Circus Federation, along with other relevant organisations. |
A range of performers from Australia, Cambodia, China, Cuba, Egypt, Hungary, Laos, Singapore, and host nation Vietnam are taking part in the event. |
During his opening speech, Ta Quang Dong, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, notes the circus festival serves as a key event that helps to promote co-operation in the fields of culture and arts between Vietnam and other countries. |
The occasion also provides a platform for Vietnamese circus artists to work with international performers, as local participants are able to exchange and share their experiences with their international counterparts. Deputy Minister Dong added that this could lead to innovations in organising, managing, and creating higher working standards, whilst also providing an exciting show for audiences. |
Circus troupes are presented with bouquets of flowers from the organising board. |
The judging panel is made up of Vietnamese and global experts. |
A range of circus performances take place following the opening ceremony. |
The organisers of the festival have stated that acrobats, jugglers, tightrope walkers, magicians, and clowns will be putting on wonderful acts to wow crowds in attendance. |
