Indonesian contemporary art in HCM City
(VOV) - An exhibition of Indonesian contemporary art titled “Picturing Pictures-From symbols to works” opened at the Ho Chi Minh City Fine Arts Museum on June 19.
The event, organized by Art Xchange Gallery with the support of the Consulate General of Indonesia in HCM City, displays 26 pieces of works, mainly oil paintings, by 21 Indonesian artists.
Ma Thanh Cao, Director of HCM City Fine Arts Museum, confirmed that the traditional culture and arts of Vietnam and Indonesia have similar Asian traits.
The exhibition will last through to June 29, offering a good opportunity for Vietnamese and Indonesian artists to meet and exchange with each other as well as for Vietnamese visitors to learn more about Indonesia’s land and people.
