The event kicked off Friday (Mar. 3) with a ribbon cutting officiated by Secretary of the Hanoi Party People’s Committee Hoang Trung Hai at Thong Nhat Park.
Other notables attending the ceremony included Bulgarian Ambassador Evgueni Stoychev and Vice Chair Nguyen Doan Toan of the People’s Committee.
Events scheduled for the six-day event running through March 8 include luncheons, a parade and a queen's coronation, arts and crafts fair, rose shows, with vendors, games, food, exhibitions and more.
The rose show is free and open to the public, beginning at 9am daily.
