Impressive LED light show celebrates 50 years of Vietnam – Japan diplomacy

VOV.VN - The central city of Da Nang has transformed the banks of its Han River into a spectacular river of light, with approximately half a million LED lights used to form a lotus field and cherry blossom garden in an activity to mark 50 years of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan.

The three scenes, namely Sakura Dome, Sakura Garden, and lotus field, were inspired by iconic flowers of the two countries -  lotus of Vietnam and sakura, also known as cherry blossom, of Japan.

The number of LED lights, 500,000, is symbolic of the 50 years of diplomatic ties between both sides.

Ngo Thi Kim Yen, deputy head of the Da Nang municipal administration, said that the light display that coincides with the Vietnam-Japan festival opening at Bien Dong Park on July 13, is indicative of the bright future ahead for the two countries, and helps to bring new experience for locals and tourists.

The event is being jointly by the administration of Da Nang, Consul General of Japan in Da Nang and the Japanese Business Association’s branch in Da Nang. The special LED light display is expected to provide a nighttime entertainment venue in the largest tourism hub in central Vietnam.
