Huyen enters Slovenia Badminton Open quarter-finals
(VOV) - Vietnamese badminton player Le Thu Huyen won a ticket on May 10 to the women’s singles quarter finals at the Slovenian Badminton Open.
Huyen defeated her Czech Republic rival Lucie Serna after 26 minutes in the second round with a score of 21-7 and 21-18 in two sets.
She will face fifth seeded Lene Clausen of Denmark in the quarter-finals.
Huyen will also compete in a mixed doubles quarter-final with her partner Do Tuan Duc after they triumphed over the Czech team of Kek Jamnik and Maja Tvrdy 21-13 and 21-11.
In their next match, the duo will contend with No.2 seeds Vitaly Konov and Yelyzaveta Zharka of Ukraine.
Do Tuan Duc and Pham Hong Nam lost their chance of a place in the quarter finals after falling 17-21, 19-21 to Zvonimir Durkinjak and Zvonimir Hoelbling of Croatia.
