Hue lights up with high-altitude fireworks on National Day Sept. 2
VOV.VN - The central city of Hue will host a high-altitude fireworks display on September 2 to celebrate Vietnam’s National Day, according to the municipal administration.

About 1,000 high-altitude fireworks will light up the sky over the Imperial City at Ngo Mon Square on the evening of September 2, promising a dazzling moment that will leave a lasting impression on tens of thousands of residents and visitors.
There will be a special art programme right before the fireworks display, reenacting Vietnam’s historical journey while honouring Hue’s rich cultural identity through large-scale, emotionally charged performances.
Earlier in the morning, the 36th Traditional Boat Racing on the Perfume River will kick off the 10th Hue City Sports Festival, expected to draw huge crowds in a vibrant display of community spirit and solidarity.
Also on the same day, Ba Trieu Square will inaugurate a modern musical fountain system, adding a new entertainment and artistic attraction for locals and tourists alike.
The series of National Day events in Hue will also feature exhibitions, traditional festivals, and new sports such as the Huda Pickleball Cup, along with showcasing Hue’s heritage, cuisine, and traditional Ao Dai at the national achievements exhibition in Hanoi.
Notably, the Hue Monuments Conservation Centre announced that Vietnamese citizens will be granted free admission on September 2. Specifically, the free entry hours will be from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Visitors are required to present their national ID card to access heritage sites such as the Imperial City, Emperor Tu Duc Tomb, Emperor Khai Dinh Tomb, Emperor Minh Mang Tomb, the Museum of Royal Antiquities of Hue, An Dinh Palace, and others.
