Hue International Music Week 2026 to offer music feast on Perfume River
VOV.VN - Hue International Music Week 2026 will take place from June 13 to June 18 along the banks of the Perfume River as part of Hue Festival 2026, featuring artists and performing groups from Vietnam and several countries.
The event will be held at an open-air stage in front of Quoc Hoc Hue High School and will be free for residents and visitors, according to organizers. Bringing the stage to the Perfume River is intended to create a new community arts venue where contemporary music meets the landscape and rhythm of life in the former imperial city.
The music week will feature eight traditional and contemporary art troupes from France, Spain, Australia, Japan, the Republic of Korea (RoK) and Vietnam. The program includes pop, flamenco, contemporary dance, cultural performances and fashion showcases.
International artists scheduled to appear include Herve Koubi’s Compagnie Hervé Koubi, music group OJOS, flamenco group LAS MIGAS, singer My Anh alongside Matthew Ifield, J-pop artist Kawanishi Natsuki, K-Culture Friends in Chungnam, Park Sang-Yong Yung Dance Company and Pungnyu Bongi.
Vietnam’s lineup will also feature MONO, a Trinh Cong Son music program and the Hue Royal Traditional Art Theatre.
Main performances are scheduled for 8 p.m. each evening. The opening night on June 13 will feature Kawanishi Natsuki, Park Sang-Yong Yung Dance Company, K-Culture Friends in Chungnam and the Hue Royal Traditional Art Theatre.
Notably, A Trinh Cong Son music program will be held on June 14, while the closing night on June 18 is expected to energize audiences with a performance by MONO.
Organizers said Hue International Music Week 2026 serves as both a cultural exchange platform and part of efforts to build Hue into a distinctive festival city of Vietnam.
Through the week-long international music program, organizers also aim to further promote the image of the former imperial capital as a friendly city with a rich cultural identity as a contribution to tourism and socio-economic development built on heritage values.
