Hoang Anh Gia Lai JMG to take part in Sanix Cup
Hoang Anh Gia Lai Arsenal JMG Football Academy will send its team to the Sanix Cup in Fukuoka, Japan, on March 21-24.
The 21-player strong Vietnamese team, under coach Graechen Guillaume, will face 15 other teams including the host’s national under-17 squad.
Participants will be divided into four groups.
The two top teams of each group will advance to the knock-out round, while the two bottom rivals will join the Global Arena Cup.
This is the first international tournament that the Academy team has joined since their establishment in Vietnam six years ago.
Last year the young team toured Europe, where they beat Arsenal’s English U17 team 1-0, Wissous’s French youth squad 2-0 and drew Paris FC’s U19 0-0 before losing 2-4 to Belgian JGM Academy.
The first generation of Hoang Anh Gia Lai Arsenal JMG will graduate next year.
