Ho Chi Minh City to host 11th Vietnam–Japan festival in March

VOV.VN - Ho Chi Minh City will organise the 11th Vietnam–Japan Festival in early March at 23/9 Park, featuring a wide range of cultural, trade, tourism, and people-to-people exchange activities between the two countries.

According to a recently issued plan by the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, the annual festival will continue its role as a major cultural and diplomatic event, contributing to the promotion of the long-standing friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Japan.

Held continuously for more than a decade, the Vietnam–Japan Festival has become a large-scale exchange platform showcasing the rich cultural identities of both countries and serving as a vivid symbol of their strong bilateral relationship.

The event aims to further promote the Vietnam–Japan Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, strengthen cultural exchange, and enhance cooperation in economics, tourism, and investment. It also seeks to deepen mutual understanding between the peoples of the two countries, particularly between Ho Chi Minh City and Japanese localities and organisations, with the goal of becoming an exchange of the largest of its kind in Vietnam.

The 11th edition of the festival will take place on March 7–8, at 23/9 Park, Ben Thanh Ward, Ho Chi Minh City.

The opening ceremony is scheduled for 9:00 a.m. on March 7, with an expected attendance of 200–300 delegates.

Festival activities will include cultural, culinary, trade, and tourism promotion programmes; art performances; cultural and sports exchanges; and seminars focusing on sustainable tourism development and future-oriented human resources.

The Department of Foreign Affairs has been assigned by the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee as the lead agency, responsible for coordinating between the city’s organising committee and the Japanese organising committee, as well as working with relevant departments and agencies to ensure the success of the festival.
