H’Hen Nie, Huong Giang among Forbes Vietnam’s 50 most influential women

VOV.VN - H’Hen Nie, who achieved a Top 5 finish in the Miss Universe 2018 beauty pageant, and Huong Giang, Miss International Queen 2018, have been named among the 50 most influential women in the country according to a list released by Forbes Vietnam.

Business magazine Forbes Vietnam revealed their list of the 50 most influential women in Vietnam for 2019 on March 4. This is the second year that the magazine has run the list.

Huong Giang, Miss International Queen 2018, first rose to prominence as a singer on Vietnam Idol in 2012. She has been named as an influencer in society, particularly with her focus on lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer/questioning (LGBTQ) issues.

The 28-year-old girl has been an active participant in many activities related to gender equality and is an inspirational figure for the local LGBTQ community in Vietnam.

She is currently in Thailand competing in the transgender pageant Miss International Queen 2019. She has also found time to give encouragement to Do Nhat Ha, another Vietnamese representative at the competition. The grand final of Miss International Queen 2019 is set to take place in Thailand on March 8.

H’Hen Nie, Miss Universe Vietnam 2017, is also among the 50 most influential women in Vietnam as announced by Forbes Vietnam. She has been named in the list for her influence on culture.

She finished in the Top 5 of Miss Universe 2018, a landmark occasion for Vietnamese beauty in a global context. Her success has proved to be an inspiration for many young people.
