HCM City to host first fashion, technology festival
The first Fashionology Festival 2017 is scheduled to take place in Ho Chi Minh City on October 20-22 with the participation of nearly 500,000 visitors.
The first-ever event will be jointly organised by the municipal Department of Tourism and the Golden Communication Group.
At a press conference in the city on July 11, the organising board said the Fashionology Festival 2017 is a modern cultural and tourism event that combines fashion and technology.
During the three-day festival, visitors could enjoy special fashion collections and music performances.
The Nguyen Hue walking street will be designed as a big catwalk for over 300 professional models at home and abroad.
About 100 domestic garment-textile businesses are expected to participate in the festival, which will also showcase the latest global fashion items in the world.
The organising board will coordinate with the municipal Department of Industry and Trade to launch shopping programmes for customers with preferential prices, said Director General of the Golden Communication Group Nguyen Minh Huong.
Director of the municipal Department of Tourism Bui Ta Hoang Vu said he hopes the festival will become an annual tourism event, contributing to luring more domestic and foreign tourists to the city.
