HCM City promotes people-to-people connections via culture-arts activities
The Ho Chi Minh City Union of Friendship Organisations (HUFO) hosted the “Friendship Exchange 2025” on June 15, aiming to foster mutual understanding and cultural cooperation between local residents and the international community living, working, and studying in the city.
The event gathered representatives from foreign consulates, international business associations, local friendship unions, and both Vietnamese and foreign art troupes.
In his opening remarks, HUFO Vice President and Secretary-General Ho Xuan Lam emphasised the growing importance of people-to-people diplomacy in the globalisation, noting that cultural and artistic exchanges play a vital role in strengthening mutual understanding and friendship among nations.
The programme featured more than 20 traditional and contemporary performances by artists from Vietnam, Cuba, India, Laos, Canada, Russia, the Republic of Korea, Germany, Indonesia, Cambodia, and others. It also highlighted the cultural identities of countries such as France, Hungary, the Netherlands, Thailand, Malaysia, Panama, and Belarus.
The event served as a vibrant display of solidarity, promoting peace, cooperation, and development through cultural dialogue. It also reaffirmed HCM City's role as a dynamic hub for cultural diplomacy and international friendship.
