HCM City gifts jewellery to First Lady Michelle Obama
VOV.VN - The Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee has gifted First Lady Michelle Obama a set of eye-popping white pearl earrings and necklace in remembrance of the state visit of President Barack Obama.

It comprises 30 rare black pearls harvested on the company’s farms in the central coastal area of Vietnam.
But don't be looking for the first lady to be wearing the dazzling gems anytime soon. By law, gifts of this nature to US officials must be turned over to the government and sent to the National Archives.
That is unless the recipient, the First Lady in this instance, chooses to purchase the items from the US General Services Administration at their fair market value.
