HCM City Flower Street inaugurated to celebrate Year of the Cat 2023
VOV.VN - The Nguyen Hue Flower Street in Ho Chi Minh City that is designed to welcome in the lunar New Year annually was opened to the public on January 19 evening to celebrate the 2023 lunar New Year of the Cat.
Workers have used many environmentally friendly and reusable materials such as metal, foam, rattan, bamboo, brick, fabric, and elastic band together with nearly 106 pots and baskets of 88 varieties of flowers and more than 300m2 of grass to decorate the 600m long flower street,
It is noteworthy that 70 cat mascots stylized in a variety of sizes and shapes with different expressions have been arranged every corner of the street to amaze visitors.
Addressing the opening ceremony, deputy head of the Ho Chi Minh municipal administration Duong Anh Duc noted the Nguyen Hue Flower Street 2023 is of special significant as it marks 20 years that the cultural event has been held in the city.
After two decades of establishment and development, the Nguyen Hue Flower Street has become a familiar entertainment destination for local residents and visitors, a unique cultural work, and a new symbol of the city when spring comes, he said.
This year, representatives of the Consulates of Laos, USA, Japan, Thailand, Australia, Malaysia, Indonesia and Canada took part in flower arrangements at the event.
The flower street is scheduled to welcome visitors from January 19 to 26.
