Hanoi to host Vietnam Cultural Heritage Week 2015

(VOV) - The Vietnam Cultural Heritage Week 2015 is set to get underway on November 15-23 at the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism in Son Tay town’s Dong Mo district, Hanoi.
People from many ethnic minority groups, such as Thai, Kho Mu (from Dien Bien province), Ta Oi (Thua Thien-Hue province), Cham (Binh Dinh province), M’Nong (Dak Lak province) and Khmer (Can Tho province), and the Kinh majority group (Tra Vinh province and Hanoi) will participate in the event.
Traditional ceremonies and festivals will be re-enacted at the event, including the Kho Mu's praying-for-rain ceremony, the Ta Oi praying for bumper crops, the San Chay wedding ceremony, and the Thai hair-washing festival.
The event is co-organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the Vietnam Cultural Heritage Association to mark Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day (November 23).
