Hanoi to host Italian Design Day

VOV.VN - The Italian Embassy in Hanoi is set to organize the seventh Italian Design Day as part of activities aimed at celebrating the 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Vietnam and Italy.

This year’s theme of “The energy of design for people and environment” will focus on sustainable design and architecture as a tool aimed at improving the overall quality of life.

In Hanoi, a total of 20 panels introducing historical sites and contemporary cities will be displayed at an exhibition titled “Everything is illuminated. Geographical perspectives from history to contemporary”.

The event will take place at Casa Italia at 18 Le Phung Hieu street from March 8 to March 15. Furthermore, a workshop on urban heritage lighting design solutions will also be held at Hanoi University of Civil Engineering (HUCE) on March 9.

The Italian Design Day was originally launched back in 2017 by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and is held in more than 100 cities around the world.

Its main purpose is to promote the history and modernity of Italian design, whilst sharing experience and ideas with partners worldwide to encourage the exchange of innovative practices and international co-operation.
