The films capture their daily lives and each film is required to have a brief introduction in Vietnamese or Japanese.

Le Ngoc Quang, deputy director of the Hanoi Education-Training Department, said the contest helps students think about their own behaviors and be nice to everyone. It also aims to promote Vietnamese students’ passion for filmmaking and discover talents in this field.

“I hope through the films we will think together about how to build a society in which all people really care about each other,” said Matsuda Yuuki, second secretary at the Japanese Embassy in Vietnam.

Outstanding works will be sent to the for Vietnamese Children slated for September and then the International Filmmaking Contest for Asian Children in Japan.
