For New Year’s Eve 2026, Hanoi will host fireworks displays at five locations, featuring six sites combining high-altitude and low-altitude fireworks with pyrotechnic effects. The displays will take place from 11:45 p.m. on December 31, 2025, to 12:00 a.m. on January 1, 2026.

Two sites - the areas in front of the Hanoi Moi Newspaper headquarters and the Hanoi Central Post Office - will be located in Hoan Kiem Ward. Other locations include Coconut Island at Thong Nhat Park (Hai Ba Trung Ward), the F1 racetrack area (Tu Liem Ward), Lac Long Quan Flower Garden (Tay Ho Ward), and Van Quan Lake (Ha Dong Ward).

Alongside the fireworks displays, the city will organise the New Year Countdown 2026 programme, due to take place from 7:00 p.m. to midnight on December 31, 2025, at Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square and throughout the Hoan Kiem Lake pedestrian zone.

For the Lunar New Year, Hanoi plans to stage fireworks displays at 31 locations, comprising 32 fireworks sites. Of these, 11 sites will feature a combination of high- and low-altitude fireworks, while 21 sites will host low-altitude fireworks only. The displays are scheduled to begin at 12:00 a.m. on February 17, 2026, marking Lunar New Year’s Eve.

In addition to fireworks, Hanoi plans to roll out a series of cultural and tourism events before, during and after the Tet holiday. Historical and cultural sites across the city will remain open to serve the public and tourists throughout the holiday period, while new tourism products will be introduced to highlight the capital’s distinctive traditional Tet atmosphere.
