Hanoi model crowned Miss Universe Vietnam 2023
VOV.VN - Bui Quynh Hoa, a model from Hanoi, successfully surpassed 17 other contestants to win the title on the coronation night of Miss Universe Vietnam 2023 which was held in Ho Chi Minh City on September 29.
She will progress to represent Vietnam by competing for the prestigious Miss Universe 2023 crown which will be held in El Salvador from November 3 to November 18.
The 25-year-old Hanoi native stands at 1.75 metres tall with body measurement of 83-60-94 cm. She was crowned Miss Ao Dai Vietnam World 2017 and has also won the Supermodel Vietnam 2018 and Supermodel International 2022 titles.
The model previously worked as a coach at the Miss International Queen Vietnam transgender pageant and at Miss Earth Vietnam. She also worked as a jury member during the Super Model International Philippines contest.
In the final night of Miss Universe Vietnam 2023, the 18 contestants participated in five rounds, namely introductions, national costumes, swimsuits, evening gowns, and Q&A.
The first and second runner-up titles went to Nguyen Thi Huong Ly from Gia Lai province and Trinh Thi Hong Dang from Ho Chi Minh City, respectively.
They will have the chance to take part in other international beauty contests ahead in 2024.
In addition, other sub-prizes were also awarded. Nguyen Thi Le Nam earned the Media Beauty prize, Mai Phuong Thao was recognised with the Inspirational Beauty prize, Lydie Vu won the Beach Beauty prize, Trinh Thi Hong Dang secured the Ao Dai Beauty prize, and Le Thi Lan Anh bagged the Fashion Beauty prize.
Vietnamese beauties have made plenty of outstanding achievements at Miss Universe throughout the years, including Nguyen Thuy Lam who finished in the Top 15 in 2008, H’Hen Nie who made the Top 5 in 2018, Hoang Thuy who was in the Top 20 in 2019, Khanh Van who finished in the Top 21 in 2020, and Kim Duyen with a Top 16 finish in 2021.
