The vibrancy and distinctive features of Hanoi’s craft streets and villages are being reflected at a photo exhibition entitled “Hanoi in me” which opened at the Temple of Literature on October 9.

Visitors at the event
Jointly held by the Kinh te & Do thi (Economics and Urban) newspaper, the Hanoi Elderly Photographers Club and the Centre for Scientific and Cultural Activities of the Temple of Literature, the event is part of activities marking the 64th anniversary of the city’s Liberation Day (October 10).

Eighty photos on display take visitors to Hang Trong street which is famous for folk paintings, Hang Than street with Banh Com (green rice flake cakes), Hang Duong with o mai (salted fruit) and traditional craft villages like Bat Trang pottery village, Van Phuc silk village and Kim Lan pottery village.

According to photographer Le Huy Cuong, a member of the Hanoi Elderly Photographers Club, the exhibition not only introduces the quintessence of Hanoi, but it also helps popularise traditional craft villages of the capital city.

The event will run until October 13. After that, the photos will be showcased at the Hanoi Museum.
