Hanoi hosts exhibition on sisterly major cities
An exhibition on the traditions and development of three major cities in Vietnam - Hanoi in the north, Hue in the central region, and HCM City in the south - opened at the capital’s Temple of Literature on October 5.
Organised by the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports, the exhibition aims to mark the 1,010th anniversary of Thang Long - Hanoi, the 60th year of the Hanoi - Hue - Sai Gon (formerly HCM City) sister city relationship, and the 66th year of the capital’s liberation.
More than 300 photos and documents are on show, introducing the traditions, cultural heritage, socio-economic achievements, and tourist attractions of the three destinations.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Director of the Department Tran Thi Van Anh underlined that, over the years, people in the three cities have nurtured a special sentiment for each other and remained united, contributing to the country’s reunification and construction.
The exhibition will run until the middle of this month.
