Hanoi hosts diverse art and culture activities to herald New Year

VOV.VN - Hanoi plans to host diverse art and culture activities to welcome in the New Year 2018 at various locations around the city. 

New Year Countdown music programs will be held at August Revolution and Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Squares, Tran Nhan Tong Street, Thong Nhat Park, and in My Dinh Stadium.

In addition, art troupes from cultural centres and clubs around Hanoi are scheduled to deliver art performances at various districts and communes throughout the city.

There will be screenings of documentary films and photo exhibitions will be curated to celebrate New Year 2018, the 88th founding anniversary of the Communist Party of Vietnam, and the traditional Lunar New Year festival (Tet).

Sure to be a highlight will be the main streets of the city centre decorated with twinkling lights and colourful banners. Hanoi will use 10 designs selected from the 2017 street design-decoration contest to adorn the city for the New Year and Tet celebrations.
