Hanoi concert to welcome New Year 2023

VOV.VN - The capital’s Opera House is set to host the Hanoi concert on January 1 in celebration of the 2023 New Year.

According to organisers Hanoi Television, the concert will be a classical musical event which aims to bring international masterpieces, including “Voice of Spring” by J.Strauss II, "Waltz from Jazz Suite No.2" by D.Shostakovich, "Heia in den Bergen" from Operetta "Die Csárdásfürstin” from E. Kálmán, “Dein ist mein ganzes Herz” from Operetta, and "Das Land des Lächelns" by F. Lehar to Vietnamese audiences.

Japanese conductor Honna Tetsuji is due to conduct the concert.

Maestro Honna is a successful conductor who has won many prestigious global awards. Indeed, he has previously been invited to many international music festivals and has made many CD recordings with famous philharmonic orchestras worldwide.

Most notably, he has been Music Director and Principal Conductor of the Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra (VNSO) since 2009.

Furthermore, local opera singers Pham Thu Ha, Dao To Loan, Dang Duong, and members of the VNSO will perform at the Hanoi concert.

The event will be held at 8 p.m. on January 1 at the Hanoi Opera House and will be aired on the Hanoi Television channel, as well as via YouTube and Facebook.
