Hanoi Ao Dai Festival 2016 slated for mid October
VOV.VN - The Ao Dai (traditional long dress) Festival 2016 is scheduled to take place at the Thang Long - Hanoi Imperial Citadel from October 14 to October 16.
Themed “The Quintessence of Vietnamese Ao Dai”, the event will cover a broad array of activities including an exhibition featuring collections of unique Ao dai from the past to present, along with the materials and ancient looms for tailoring the Ao dai.
The cultural activity aims to preserve and promote Vietnam’s traditional values and the beauty and grace of the Ao dai, the traditional Vietnamese costume for women.
The highlight of the three-day event will be decorative lights made of conical hats, set up both inside and outside the festival venue, creating a lively and intimate atmosphere for the visitors.
A space will be specifically dedicated to displaying images and documents about the history of the Ao dai.
The event is also expected to introduce the cultural heritage of Vietnam’s 1,000-year-old capital to both domestic visitors and international friends via its platform and various activities.
