HAGL invests US$4 mln in Cambodia’s football centre
(VOV) - The Football Federation of Cambodia (FFC) has inaugurated the national football centre and Cambodian football academy in Baty district, Kandal province.
The centre and academy were built on an area of 15 hectares, 40km far from Phnom Penh, with fundings from the Goal Project of the International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA) and both domestic and foreign sponsors.
At the inauguration ceremony on June 18, Prime Minister of Cambodia Hun Sen praised many individuals and groups for their active contributions to Cambodia’s football. Vietnam’s Hoang Anh Gia Lai (HAGL) Group Doan Nguyen Duc was awarded the first-class order.
HAGL Group, for its part, provided US$4 million for the construction of office buildings and houses for athletes as well as for training activity at the centre.
It has so far invested US$230 million in Cambodia’s agricultural sector and US$30 million in the building houses, schools, roads, healthcare stations and vocational training centres.
The Group is committed to providing US$10 million for community development in Cambodia from now until 2016.
