Ha Long to host national film festival
The 18th national film festival will take place in Ha Long city of northern Quang Ninh province from October 11-15, according to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
Held every three years, the event presents one Golden Lotus, two Silver Lotus and two Jury Prizes to winners of different categories, namely the best motion pictures, documentaries and animated cartoons.
Personal awards will be given to the best director, the best actor and actress, the best supporting actor and actress, the best scriptwriter, the best cameraman, the best production design, the best music, and the best sound editing.
There will be an audience choice award for the most popular film at the event, which is among cultural events featuring the 60th anniversary of the Vietnam Cinema Industry.
