Gymnasts say farewell to Olympics
Two female Vietnamese gymnasts Do Ngan Thuong and Phan Thi Ha Thanh were disqualified for the next stage of the London 2012 Olympics on July 29.
Thuong grabbed 11,486 points in the uneven bars event and 11,966 points in the beam event to stay at the bottom of the rankings.
Her unsuccessful performance was mainly due to her recent injury in the left ankle, which has not fully recovered.
Meanwhile, Thanh received 13,533 points and was placed 12th in the vault event. In the floor event, she could only get 12,466 points to rank 71st.
Earlier, their male colleague Pham Phuoc Hung failed to advance in the men’s rings event with 14,433 points to rank 40th.
