Global Coffee Heritage Festival 2025 highlights coffee’s cultural legacy
VOV.VN - The Global Coffee Heritage Festival 2025 officially opened on the evening of Dec. 21 at Lam Vien Square in Da Lat, a Central Highlands city in Lam Dong province, within the framework of the 2025 Southeast Asia Gong Culture Festival.
Running from December 18, 2025 to January 2, 2026, the inaugural festival features immersive global coffee heritage experiences, exhibition and tasting areas combining coffee and cuisine, and a series of cultural programmes, including coffee-themed music nights in the highlands, South American-themed performances, Christmas celebrations and a New Year 2026 countdown.
Addressing the opening ceremony, Nguyen Van Loc, Director of the Lam Dong Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said coffee is not only a key economic commodity but also a cultural symbol and living heritage closely tied to history, livelihoods and national identities. With more than a century of development, Lam Dong has affirmed its role in Vietnam’s coffee value chain, anchored in high-quality production, deep processing, creativity and coffee tourism.
“Through experiential spaces, exhibitions, cultural exchanges and international conferences, the festival will serve as an open forum where Vietnamese coffee is positioned within the shared flow of global coffee heritage. In the coming years, Lam Dong hopes the festival will grow into a reputable annual event bearing the province’s distinct imprint and become a meeting point for coffee lovers worldwide,” Loc said.
As part of the festival programme, an international coffee conference will be held alongside street performances and the announcement of the Vietnam–Global Coffee Alliance, thereby creating new opportunities to expand international cooperation and boost the sustainable development of the coffee sector.
The Global Coffee Heritage Festival 2025 is expected to emerge as a cultural and tourism highlight for Da Lat and Lam Dong, drawing strong public interest and large numbers of visitors.
