German Film Festival 2021 to be screened through online platform

VOV.VN - The German Cultural Institute (Goethe Institute) in Vietnam is set to host a virtual film festival between August 28 and September 18 to offer a chance for local audiences to learn more about German culture while staying at home for the country’s COVID-19 fight.

As part of the event one film will be screened online at 8 p.m. every Saturday, with viewers able to access it through going to https://goethe-on-demand.de.

After the screening, the movie will still be available to view on the website for one week in order to give audiences plenty of time to watch it.

The festival is scheduled to open on August 28 with a showing of German film “Too far away” directed by Sarah Winkenstette. It tells the story of 11-year-old Ben and his family as they move from a small village to a nearby city. He gets acquainted with a refugee and quickly becomes his close friend.

Furthermore, the Goethe Institute will also introduce other films during the festival, including “Tyrol”, "Greetings From Fukushima", and “Amelie”, on September 4, September 11, and September 18, respectively.
