German exhibition portrays Vietnamese returnees’ lives

(VOV) - The lives of Vietnamese returnees from overseas will be illustrated at a photographic exhibition due to open in Hanoi on December 4.

Nora Bibel who took the photographs came to Vietnam several years ago to carry out a book project and was immediately amazed by local people there.

In 2010, she returned to the country and spent one month getting acquainted with some Vietnamese returnees and took photograph of them.

The exhibition titled “Que Huong” (Fatherland) shows a portrait of the human negotiation of displacement and home. It will last through to December 28.

Nora Bibel was born in 1971. During 1993-1999, she studied photography at the University of Applied Sciences in Germany.

In addition to her freelance artistic work, Nora Bibel also works as a photographer in the area of travel, reportage and portraiture. She lives and works in Berlin.
