From great unity landmark to Vietnam-Japan cultural bridge in Fukuoka

VOV.VN - The Consulate General of Vietnam in Fukuoka, in coordination with the Global Network for Vietnamese Language Teaching and Cultural Preservation and local associations in Kyushu, held a press conference to introduce the 2nd National Great Unity Festival for Overseas Vietnamese in Fukuoka 2026 and Vietnam Culture Day.

Under the theme "Great Unity - Integration - Preserving Vietnamese Culture - Looking Toward the Homeland," the event will take place on November 14-15 in Fukuoka, expecting to attract thousands of overseas Vietnamese, businesses, Vietnamese-Japanese families, and international friends.

Consul Nguyen Thanh Trung from the Vietnamese Consulate General in Fukuoka applauded the initiative and emphasized that great national unity represents a vital source of national strength, as reaffirmed in Politburo Resolution No. 23  issued on August 2, 2026.

This spirit helps the overseas community support one another, preserve the Vietnamese language and cultural identity, look toward the homeland, and actively integrate into host society.

The highlight of the 2026 festival is the "Vietnamese Village in Fukuoka" model, a miniature cultural space highlighting regional heritage and the diversity of Vietnam's 54 ethnic groups.

The venue will recreate cultural features from the Ancestral Land of the Hung Kings, Hanoi, Bac Ninh, to the Central Region, Central Highlands, and Southern Vietnam, alongside a "Vietnamese Village Passport" interactive activity for youth and multicultural Vietnamese-Japanese families.

Nguyen Duy Anh, member of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and head of the organizing committee, stressed that the festival aims to establish a vibrant cultural space where associations, families, and individuals actively contribute to preserving their mother tongue and national identity under the message "Each person contributes a piece of the homeland."

Building on the success of 2025, the 2026 festival is expected to create a deep cultural and community space where the spirit of national unity is demonstrated through practical activities, while promoting the role of overseas Vietnamese in connecting the homeland with the host nation.
