(VOV) -Four damaged cannons have been discovered at Thu Thiem Ward, District 2, Ho Chi Minh City.
A joint initial survey by the HCM City Military Command and HCM City Museum showed the rusted guns were made of alloy, not bronze as expected.
They are believed to belong to the Nguyen Dynasty under the reign of King Minh Menh (1824).
The four guns have a similar size, with one, 1.78m long, remaining intact, and three others broken.
The HCM City Museum is finalizing procedures to take over and display the artifacts on its premises.
