Former Cuban President’s memoir debuts in HCM City

The Vietnamese edition of a two-volume memoir on the fighting career of former Cuban President Fidel Castro Ruz was unveiled in Ho Chi Minh City on July 20, on the occasion of Cuba ’s 60th Moncada uprising anniversary.

It gives readers a full and honest account of the last period in the national liberation struggle of the Cuban people against the Batista dictatorship, as well as the challenges faced by the Cuban leader, and his efforts to uphold ethical principles of the Cuban army.

Cuban Ambassador to Vietnam Fredesman Turro Gonzalez noted that the book, written by Fidel himself is a precious asset and must-see reference for those who are keen to learn about the revolutionary history of Cuba.

At the event, a copy of the book printed on Do paper and put in a lacquer box, was sent to the former President as a gift on his 87th birthday.
